Pew Cones

Remember our pretty little church.... and all those pews???

Personal Photo

Our church does have some pretty strict rules about the amount and types of decorations
we are allowed to have....

No isle runners... no candles... and NO messes!!

And while I am sure we will have some type of alter floral arrangements, I have had a hard time imagining what the isle might look like... it NEEDS something... and until I found burlap cones I didn't know what could complete the overall look I wanted.

Look at that eye candy! Are those not just the prettiest burlap cones you have ever seen?

Okay, okay... I exaggerate sometimes, but really they do have very nice visual appeal... and will tie nicely around our church's pews...

I have decided this weekend will be spent trying to DIY these babies... and although I have yet to find a pattern I am pretty sure I can wing it!

Wish me Luck!!

Have you figured out all our ceremony decorations? Are you limited by your venue too?

Going to the Chapel

Okay...

So we aren't actually getting married in a Chapel per say....

But the first thing we did once we got engaged was determine WHERE we planned on getting married.

Both of us are Catholic - and my family has a decent history of being married in the Salt Lake Cathedral.

But as we started to talk it though we realized that what we REALLY wanted was to have everyone we know (yes, and their mothers) be able to attend our wedding.... Since he has such a large family, mainly based in California, it was going to be 100 times easier for the majority of people to attend if we held our wedding in CA...

My Madre, Sister & College friends are in New York - My Dad, Stepmom & High School friends are in Alaska - and My Grandparents and Uncle are in Utah... so pretty much everyone in my family is going to have to travel anyways...

Since He is/was much more involved in the Catholic Church growing up we thought it would be sweet if he could receive his marriage sacrament in the same church he got all his others...

How picture perfect is that little church?!?

The inside is slightly less photogenic, but there is a lot of natural light let in by the stained glass windows on each side of the pews and to the left and right of the alter there is additional seating (not visible in the picture).

I am beyond excited to start dreaming up pew decoration ideas... Plus I enjoy the challenge of working with the Church's rules...

How did you decide where was best to get married??
